Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP is pleased to announce the launch of Antitrust Update Blog, a source of insights, information and analysis on both criminal and civil antitrust and competition-related issues, including the legal developments, trends and changing regulation that impact businesses.
Antitrust Update Blog will be among the few industry resources to offer perspective from both the criminal and civil sides of antitrust law—a capability made possible by the depth of experience in Patterson Belknap’s Antitrust Practice. This includes firm co-chair William F. Cavanaugh, Jr., a skilled trial attorney who served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the United States for Civil Enforcement in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice and Deirdre A. McEvoy, who served as Chief of the New York Field Office of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division before joining the firm in 2013. Ms. McEvoy also brings her white collar defense and investigations experience to the Antitrust Practice, having spent ten years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where she spent three years as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division.
The Antitrust Practice team also includes Robert P. LoBue and Thomas W. Pippert who, along with Mr. Cavanaugh and Ms. McEvoy, represent clients in complex business, antitrust, and intellectual property litigations. Their recent cases have included product distribution and pricing, standard-setting activities, and IP/antitrust issues such as alleged “reverse payment” patent settlements, misuse of patents and vertical restrictions on distribution of financial data, among other issues.
